Sustainability experts Leye-Odeyemi, Lawal to deliver keynote at 2026 MediaConsortium CSR conference in Lagos

Seasoned sustainability professionals, Tosin Leye-Odeyemi and Adewole Lawal, have been confirmed as keynote speakers for the 2026 MediaConsortium CSR Impact and Excellence Conference, organisers have announced.

The second edition of the conference is scheduled to hold on May 15, 2026, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) complex, located at 10, Nurudeen Olowopopo Drive, Alausa, Ikeja, in Lagos, starting from 10 a.m.

Both speakers are recognised professionals in the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and sustainability space and are expected to provide insights that will shape discussions at the conference.

Leye-Odeyemi currently serves as Head of HoldCo Risk, Sustainability and Capital Management at Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc. She also sits on the board of Stanbic IBTC Trustees Limited as a Non-Executive Director.

With over two decades of experience in governance, capital management and sustainability, Leye-Odeyemi has built a distinguished career within the Stanbic IBTC Group. Since joining the organisation in 2002, she has held several leadership positions across Internal Control, Compliance, Investment Management, Finance, and People and Culture.

In April 2022, she assumed her current role where she leads the Risk, Capital Management and Sustainability teams within the finance function, focusing on strengthening governance frameworks, improving operational efficiency and supporting value-driven decision-making.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and holder of the Financial Services Associate (FSA) credential, she earned an Executive MBA from Lagos Business School.

The second keynote speaker, Adewole Lawal, is the Group Sustainability Lead at EverCorp Industries. With more than 13 years of professional experience, Lawal is regarded as a sustainability facilitator, mentor and ESG thought leader.

His expertise spans several sectors including financial services, oil and gas, mining, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), agriculture, telecommunications and energy.

Lawal is also widely recognised for his deep understanding of global ESG frameworks and standards, including those developed by the International Finance Corporation, the World Bank Environmental, Health and Safety guidelines, the Equator Principles Association, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment.

He also has extensive knowledge of sustainability reporting standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative framework.

In his current role at EverCorp Industries, Lawal provides strategic guidance to subsidiary companies across the energy, financial services and food and beverage sectors, helping them strengthen their sustainability and ESG performance.

He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Ibadan, a Master’s degree in Global and International Social Policy from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, and an Executive MBA in Strategic Leadership from Quantic School of Business and Technology in the United States.

A recipient of the Commonwealth Scholarship, Lawal has also earned several professional certifications, including Lead Auditor for Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001), Lead Implementer for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001), and Lead Risk Manager certification under ISO 31000.

The conference, organised by MediaConsortium, a business, brands and marketing publication, will be held under the theme “Beyond Profit: Redefining Success Through CSR & Sustainability.”

According to the organisers, the event aims to deepen conversations around corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability, while highlighting how organisations can leverage responsible business practices to drive both organisational growth and societal impact.

The conference will also feature a panel session with industry experts and stakeholders who will further explore emerging trends in sustainability and ESG practices. In addition, the event will recognise and reward individuals and organisations making notable contributions to social impact and responsible corporate conduct.
