A renowned female human rights activist in Nigeria, Comrade Aisha Yesufu, on Monday joined the world in remembrance of the 276 students kidnapped by terrorists in Chibok, 10 years after.

April 15, 2024, marks the 10th anniversary of the kidnap of 276 girls from the Girls Science Secondary School, Ckibok, Borno State, Northwest Nigeria by Boko Haram terrorists. The girls were kidnapped at night from their hostels.

Aisha Yesufu decried that beside the agony of the 276 Chibok girls kidnapped by terrorists, the country was thrown into another tragedy from the terrorist’s bombing at Nyanya Motor Park, an outskirt of Abuja, that killed many.

She lamented that 10 years after, the perpetrators are yet to be apprehended, adding that some of the kidnapped Chibok school girls are still in captivity, while many more kidnapping in schools have occurred.

Aisha Yesufu, therefore, declared that “Nigeria had failed itself and its people.”

According to Aisha Yesufu, @AishaYesufu “10 years ago we woke up to the News that hundreds of girls had been abducted by terrorists from their school in Borno State.

“We were still reeling from the brutal terrorist bombing at Nyanya motor park that killed many the day before.

“It’s been 10 years and we are yet to apprehend the perpetrators.

“Some of the school girls are still in captivity and many school abductions have taken place since then.

“Nigeria had failed itself and its people.”
