Nigerian music stars Tems and Burna Boy have officially broken their tie with South African rock band Seether, emerging as the African artists with the highest number of entries on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart.
The trio had previously been level at seven entries each. However, fresh appearances on the chart this week have pushed the Nigerian duo ahead, following their features on American rapper J. Cole’s new album, The Fall-Off.
“Bounce Road Blues,” featuring Tems and Future, debuted at No. 34 on the chart, while “Only You,” featuring Burna Boy, entered at No. 78. The new entries bring both Tems and Burna Boy to a joint total of eight Hot 100 appearances each — the highest for any African act in the chart’s history.
Tems’ latest milestone adds to an already impressive year. She has now secured three Billboard Hot 100 entries in 2026 alone, including “Raindance” with Dave, “What You Need,” and the newly charting “Bounce Road Blues.” This makes her the African artist with the most Hot 100 entries so far this year.

Burna Boy, on the other hand, has extended his own historic run. The Grammy-winning star has become the first African artist to record at least one Billboard Hot 100 entry for six consecutive years. His charting streak includes “Loved By You” (2021), “Last Last” (2022), “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” and “Talibans II” (2023), “Just Like Me” and “We Pray” (2024), “WGFT” (2025), and now “Only You” (2026).
The achievement further cements Nigeria’s growing dominance on the global music stage, as Afrobeats and African collaborations continue to gain mainstream traction in the United States and beyond.
