Ten children from the Gaza Strip have arrived in Slovenia for medical treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation, according to the foundation of former Slovenian President Danilo Turk.

This group, consisting of children and adolescents with serious injuries, includes four who have undergone leg amputations and two who have lost arms.

The youngest among them is just four years old.

The children will receive intensive medical care and rehabilitation at the URI Soča Institute in Ljubljana, where they are expected to stay for a minimum of 42 days.

The rehabilitation aims to provide not only physical treatment but also the necessary psychological support to aid their recovery.

This rehabilitation initiative was launched in early September by Slovenia’s Foreign Ministry.

In addition to the children’s care, the project includes financial assistance for nearly a thousand of the most vulnerable displaced families in Gaza, highlighting Slovenia’s commitment to humanitarian support during the ongoing crisis.
