Have you heard about the first skyscraper in Nigeria and where it is located in Nigeria? Everything that exists in this world must have the first one. Even in the case of human beings, there was the first human on earth. So in Nigeria, there’s the first skyscraper which is located in the westerner part of Nigeria. The first Nigerian skyscraper is located in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The name of the skyscraper is the “Cocoa house” and it was completed and commissioned in 1965, just 5 years after the Nigerian independence. The building is a 26-storey building that has been in existence for many years.

The building was named the cocoa house because it was built from agricultural proceeds and commodities in the state, especially from cocoa. The building is 105 meters tall, and it is still standing today.

There’s no doubt that this building was erected with ancient materials which are very strong and can last for more years to come. The building was renovated in 1992 after a fire outbreak affected some parts of the building. After the renovation, the building commenced operation immediately. It has a lot of rooms which people can lodge in.

There’s no doubt that this building is deteriorating gradually. This is a building that has been standing for more than 50 years, and it is getting old gradually. Everything in this world will deteriorate including humans after lasting for many years.
