Tragedy struck in Ushafa, along Dutse-Bwari expressway in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as a car fell off a bridge killing three persons and injuring two others.
The accident was said to have involved a Toyota Carina 2 car, with registration number, AE 233 YLA, conveying five passengers, suddenly crashed under the bridge with harvest of deaths.
A witness said the driver, explained that the driver of the car was visibly on top speed on entering the bridge but lost control and veered off the road and plunged into the river.
He said the three persons died on the spot as they were trapped in the car, which was damaged beyond repair.
Confirming the accidents, Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dutse, Henry Igwe, said three persons died in the car that plunged into the river, adding that the injured were rescued through the combined efforts of his men and other security operatives.
