Popular Nigerian TikTok personality Peller has been dragged to court over allegations of verbal assault and invasion of privacy following a confrontation at a Lagos nightclub.

The suit was instituted by a Lagos-based woman, Osarobo Odigie, who claims she was verbally abused and unlawfully filmed during an encounter at Folixxx Lounge along the Lekki-Epe Expressway.

According to a pre-action letter issued by law firm FA Garrick & Co. and signed by lawyer Bola Osineye, the incident occurred on January 6, 2026, while Odigie was purchasing food at the lounge.

The claimant alleged that Peller confronted her without provocation and subjected her to verbal abuse during the altercation.

The situation escalated when the TikToker reportedly recorded the incident and later shared the video on social media, where it quickly gained traction.

Peller had earlier posted the footage online in January but subsequently issued a public apology, admitting that he uploaded the video without Odigie’s consent.

Despite the apology, Odigie maintained that the publication caused significant harm, including reputational damage and emotional distress, prompting her to pursue legal redress.

Her lawyers warned that formal court proceedings will commence next week if the demands outlined in the pre-action notice are not met within the stipulated time frame.

The dispute has sparked renewed conversation about privacy rights, online conduct, and the legal consequences of sharing personal encounters on social media without consent.

Legal observers note that the outcome could set an important precedent regarding digital content creation, personal rights, and accountability for influencers in Nigeria’s rapidly expanding social media space.
