Tragedy struck Okitipupa in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State after a 28-year-old man, identified as Femi Agbeye, allegedly killed his three siblings in a violent attack.
The suspect, described by residents as mentally unstable, was said to have attacked the victims with a machete at their family residence, leaving them fatally injured.
The spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, Jimoh Abayomi, confirmed the incident to journalists on Wednesday in Akure. He identified the deceased as Bose Agbeye (20), Dupe Agbeye (7), and Blessing Agbeye (5).
According to the police, the suspect’s father reported the incident at the Okitipupa Area Command shortly after it occurred.
“Operatives of the command swiftly mobilised to the scene, where the victims were found lifeless,” the police spokesperson stated. “Their remains have been evacuated and deposited at the State Specialist Hospital Morgue, Okitipupa, for preservation and autopsy.”

Abayomi further disclosed that the suspect was arrested in a prompt and coordinated operation by security personnel.
“The suspect has been apprehended and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations,” he added.
The incident has left the Okitipupa community in shock, with residents expressing grief over the loss of the three siblings. Authorities have assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
