Nigerian military operations in the northern region have led to the neutralization of 96 terrorists and the arrest of 227 suspects, marking a significant achievement in the fight against terrorism.
Among those captured was notorious terrorist commander Usman Maisaje, a close associate of high-profile leader Kachalla Boka.

According to Major General Buba Edward, Director of Defence Media Operations, Maisaje’s arrest has provided valuable intelligence for ongoing operations. Troops also rescued 157 kidnapped hostages, bringing relief to affected families and communities.
In the South-South region, troops seized crude oil worth N712 million, apprehending 45 suspects involved in oil theft.
They destroyed 48 boats, 4 dugout pits, and 52 drums used in illegal oil refining, while recovering 712,535 litres of stolen crude oil and 76,800 litres of illegally refined diesel.
Additionally, 71 weapons, including AK47 rifles and 1,463 rounds of ammunition, were seized.
Major General Edward reiterated the military’s commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and national security, assuring citizens of the continued success of counter-terrorism efforts.
