Update: INEC officially announces Atiku’s victory over Tinubu in Osun

The  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja on Monday officially announced the victory of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Saturday presidential election in Osun State.

Final result of the presidential election in Osun State announced by the commission at the National Collation Centre, Abuja, monitored by National Daily from Lagos, indicated that the candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, had 354,366 votes to defeat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who had 343,945 votes.

The collation officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State, Folashade Ogunsola, announcing the final result, disclosed total of 756,744 votes were cast in the presidential election in the state and that a total of 733,203 votes were valid, while 23,541 votes were rejected.

In the final result announced in Abuja on Monday the PDP had 354,366 votes, ADC 3,988 votes, APC 343,945 votes, APGA 613, LP 23,283 and NNPP 713.
