The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday resumed collation final result of the Saturday governorship election in Bayelsa at 12.42.
Announcing the result from Brass Local Government Area, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) , Timipre Sylva, had 18, 431, and Governor Douye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had 12,602 votes.

Thus Sylva of the APC has won a second local government, while the result of one local government is now delaying the final result to be computed and winner declared.
Meanwhile, Governor Diri has won five of the eight local government areas, as Sylva wins in two LGAs, as the result of Southern Ijaw is being awaited.

The Returning Officer has so far announced the results from Kolokuma/Opokuma, Ogbia, Yenegoa, Sagbama, Nemb, Ekeremor and Brass Local Government Areas, and would announced the result Southern Ijaw as soon as it is available.
Governor Diri is currently leading with over 55,000 votes.
