Update: INEC’s defends Tinubu at Supreme Court

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in defence of the petitions against President Bola Tinubu, at the Supreme Court hearing on Monday, testified that:

President Tinubu had 25% votes in 29 of the 36 States of the Federation…

Atiku Abubakar had 25% in 21 of the 36 States of the Federation…

Peter Obi had 25% In 17 of the 36 States of the Federation and FCT.

The Commission concluded that:

Only President Tinubu got the Constitutional requirement and having the highest number of votes cast, and was, therefore, declared winner of the presidential election.

These are vehemently being challenged by Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Supreme Court of Nigeria after the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in its judgement upheld the election of the President Tinubu.

INEC, however, has a duty to defend the result the commission announced declaring Tinubu winner of the 2023 presidential elections.
