The cost of the nomination form for presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the coming 2023 general elections has spiked reactions and former Aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has stated why the EFCC need to investigate some APC aspirants.
In his reaction, the controversial activist said presidential aspirants like the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Ngige, Dave Umahi, Yahaya Bello and others under the umbrella of the APC should be questioned by the anti-graft agency known as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for being able to live above their means of income.
According to him, any government official who can afford the 100 million Naira (#100,000) APC nomination form is corrupt and should be invited for questioning by the EFCC. This is because government officials can earn just 12 million Naira every year and are not allowed to run any side business while in office.
He explained that for any APC aspirants who is a government official to afford the nomination form, that person is a suspect and should be investigated by the EFCC the same way Obi Cubana, Young boys driving Range Rovers are questioned to show that the anti-graft agency is not biased.
He wrote, “Any government official that pays the #100 million APC Presidential nomination price tag is likely corrupt. There is no way they can afford that on their legitimate salary. And they are not allowed to run side businesses while in office.”
