The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People and the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, have expressed their condolences to the family of late Kenule Saro-Wiwa over the untimely death of their son, Mr. Ken Saro-Wiwa Jr.
MOSOP in a statement on Wednesday by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Fegalo Nsuke, expressed shock over the news of the death of Saro-Wiwa Jr.
“MOSOP, on behalf of the entire Ogoni nation, wishes to express our deep shock over the news of the death of Ken Saro-Wiwa Jr.,” the main body of Ogoni people said.
“MOSOP is deeply pained by this tragic incident, the loss of our dear Ken Jr. – son of our celebrated hero, Ken Saro-Wiwa. We express our deepest condolences to the family of Wiwa in particular and the Ogoni nation in general.”
Wike, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu, said the death of the environmental rights activist was a major loss to Rivers State, Nigeria and humanity.
He said the late Saro-Wiwa Jr. devoted his life to humanity and his death left a vacuum that would be difficult to fill.
