A first-class monarch at Iselu, Yelwa North, Ogun, gifted Imo Senator Rochas Okorocha a traditional title recently—only to withdraw it August 9.
Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, the Eselu of Iselu Kingdom, said he withdrew the chieftaincy in the interest of peace.
The Imo former governor was supposed to be installed Otunba Asoludero of Iselu in September.
He said that the conferment was due to Okorocha’s efforts in unifying different tribes across the country.
But the monarch in a letter on Monday explained that the chieftaincy title was withdrawn “in the interest of peace and harmony”.
Okorocha and his successor Hope Uzodinma have been fifghting since the former governor failed in his bid to install his so-in-law and chief of staff as governor.
