Operatives of the newly established security outfit, Agunechemba, have allegedly uncovered 30 graves and a shrine within the premises of a popular hotel in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The startling discovery was made on Saturday following a tip-off from an anonymous informant. Videos taken by the operatives, who have since gone viral on social media, show rows of neatly partitioned graves and a shrine situated within the compound of the hotel.

Mr. Ejimofor Opera, a special aide to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, confirmed that the hotel, identified as Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites—also known as La Cruise Hotel—has been demolished.

Opera stated that the demolition was carried out in accordance with the Anambra State Homeland Security Law, which permits the state government to dismantle criminal hideouts.

In a social media post accompanying videos of the demolition, Opera said, “The demolition of a kidnappers’ den disguised as Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites is underway. This operation demonstrates our commitment to maintaining security and ridding Anambra of criminal activities.”

While reports circulating online allege that the hotel is owned by a native doctor, this information has yet to be verified.

Speculations about the activities within the hotel have fueled public outrage, with many questioning how such an establishment operated for so long without detection.

As of the time of filing this report, the Anambra State Police Command has not issued any official statement on the matter.

The absence of police communication has left residents eager for further clarification about the discoveries made at the site, as well as the identities of those involved.

The shocking revelations have sparked widespread concern and condemnation from residents and social media users. Many have called for a thorough investigation to uncover the full extent of the alleged criminal activities linked to the hotel and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The discovery comes amidst heightened efforts by the state government to clamp down on criminal elements in Anambra.

Governor Soludo’s administration has been actively implementing measures to improve security, including the establishment of the Agunechemba security outfit to tackle rising insecurity in the region.

Residents of Oba and the wider Anambra community are now looking to law enforcement for answers and assurances of safety.

Meanwhile, investigations into the operation of the hotel and the grim findings within its premises are expected to continue.
