African Automotive Journalists Mourn Death of Stellantis South Africa Communications Chief

The Association of African Automotive Journalists (AAAJ) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Head of Corporate Communications at Stellantis South Africa, Ms. Nthabiseng Mokoape Motsepe, describing her passing as a significant loss to the African automotive industry.

In a condolence message dated August 1, 2026, and signed by the association’s President, Mike Ochonma, the AAAJ extended its sympathies to the management and staff of Stellantis South Africa as well as the bereaved family.

The association said it received news of Ms. Motsepe’s death with profound sadness, noting that her demise represents not only a loss to Stellantis South Africa but also to the wider African automotive sector, where she earned widespread respect as a communications expert and corporate leader.

According to the statement, Ms. Motsepe was renowned for her professionalism, integrity, humility, and commitment to fostering meaningful engagement between the automotive industry and the media across the continent.

“Throughout her career, Ms. Nthabiseng exemplified professionalism, integrity, humility, and excellence. She built enduring relationships with journalists and industry stakeholders across Africa, always demonstrating warmth, respect, and an unwavering commitment to advancing the automotive sector,” the statement read.

The AAAJ also commended her role in strengthening industry communication and promoting the Stellantis brand, describing her contributions as a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire future generations of automotive professionals.

While acknowledging that words cannot fully ease the pain of the loss, the association prayed for God to grant the late communications executive eternal rest and to give her family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to cope with the bereavement.
