A High Court in Neni, Anambra State, has sentenced Nonso Anunuobi to life imprisonment for his involvement in a string of serious crimes including conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping, and attempted murder.
The verdict was delivered by Justice G.C. Anulude of the Anambra State High Court 1, concluding a painstaking trial that spanned several years which involved a life imprisonment sentence.
Anunuobi faced charges under the Criminal Code Act and the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, among other relevant legislations.
Damning evidence was presented against him throughout the trial.

According to court documents (Charge No. NN/5C/2019), Anunuobi and his gang members ambushed their victim, Aloysius Obidinma, in Ifitedunu, Dunukofia Local Government Area. Obidinma was waylaid while returning to Onitsha from his hometown.
The unsuspecting victim was then brutally assaulted, shot, and forcibly dragged into the criminals’ vehicle.
The perpetrators dispossessed Obidinma of his car, laptop, phones, and other personal effects.
They subsequently demanded ransom from his family for his release.
Their criminal activities came to an end when law enforcement officers tracked one of the stolen devices, which ultimately led to the apprehension of the culprits.
