The Oyo State Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development is significantly enhancing its regulatory processes to ensure all builders and developers within the state strictly adhere to construction guidelines.

This intensified effort aims to drastically reduce the incidence of building collapses, a critical concern for public safety.

Mr. Akin-Funmilayo, the Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development in Oyo state, emphasized the importance of this drive. He strongly urged developers to seek proper approval and guidance from the Ministry before commencing any construction projects. This proactive measure, he stressed, is essential to prevent avoidable disasters.

“We will protect lives and property in the state by ensuring that homeowners and contractors comply with the building regulations,” Akin-Funmilayo stated.
