The mole that facilitated the August 24 attacks on the Nigerian Defence Academy has been ratted out by the Nigerian military and intelligence services, according to an intelligence report.

Sergeant Torsobo Solomon is a member of the Nigeria Air Force currently attached to the Air Force Comprehensive School, Yola.

Solomon, apparently a Christian, was working with the bandits many believe are Fulani Muslims.

The military announced he was arrested on Monday in Yola, capital of Adamawa State.

“On 08 Nov 21, at about 0600hrs, NAF07/ 23922, SGT Torsobo Solomon of 153 BSG (AIR FORCE COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL YOLA) was arrested on the order of the Base Commander as requested by the NDA Commander for an offence connecting with arms and ammunition with recent bandit attack at NDA Kaduna,” an intelligence report rending online stated on Monday.

“At about 0815hrs, ATR with reg no NAF 930 to arrive flight line to convey him from Yola to NDA Kaduna for further interrogation.”

The NDA released Solomon’s photo and announced he is to be flown to the Army Training Regiment (ATR) in Kaduna.

But the academy has refuted the report, claiming the sergeant is not in any way connected to the NDA or the crime, and he is not under arrest.

“The general public is hereby advised to disregard this misinformation and refer to relevant Investigative Security Agencies for clarification,”  NDA spokesperson Major Bashir Jajira said on Tuesday.

The August attack, the most daring in the history of the academic,   left two officers – Lieutenant Commander Wulah and Flight Lieutenant CM Okoronkwo – dead.

Second Lieutenant Onah sustained gunshot wounds. Major Christopher Datong was kidnapped and later released.
