The Bayelsa State Government is being reorganised following the inauguration of PDP governor in the state as ordered by the court. The emergence of Governor Douye Diri has necessitated certain political adjustments towards equitable distribution of power in the state.
Apparently, Abraham Ngobere, PDP lawmaker, representing Brass Constituency III, has been elected Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, succeeding the former House of Assembly Speaker, Monday Bubou-Obolo, who stepped aside for the power sharing adjustment to be made in the state legislature.

The new Governor Douye Diri, who is from Bayelsa Central Senatorial District which former Speaker Bubou-Obolo also represents in the state legislature, led to the agreement for power shift in the legislature. The Speaker had to step down for a new Speaker from another district.
Members of the House had to elect the Deputy Speaker, Abraham Ngobere, as the new Speaker of the Assembly.
