The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, a women leader of the City Boy Movement, wanted over allegations of obtaining money by false pretence.

In a notice issued on Monday via its official X handle, the anti-graft agency said Tejuosho is being sought in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged financial misconduct.

The notice was signed by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity for the EFCC, who stated that the commission is actively tracking the suspect and urged members of the public to assist with credible information that could lead to her arrest.

The EFCC called on Nigerians with useful information regarding her whereabouts to report to any of its offices nationwide.

It also advised the public to reach out through its official telephone lines, email channels, or by contacting the nearest police station or other security agencies.

Tejuosho had recently been announced as the South-West Zonal Women Leader of the City Boy Movement, a political support group.

According to a statement issued by the group, her role was to provide strategic leadership for women-focused initiatives in the region, including political mobilisation, civic engagement, and advocacy activities.

The development comes as the EFCC continues its broader crackdown on financial crimes across the country, targeting individuals suspected of fraud, money laundering, and related offences.

Investigation ongoing

While details of the allegations have not been fully disclosed, the commission said investigations are ongoing and further updates will be communicated as necessary.

The EFCC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that all individuals, regardless of political or social affiliation, are held accountable under the law.
