Eniola Badmus apologises to Laide Bakare over controversial Podcast interview
Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has publicly apologised to her colleague, Laide Bakare, following a backlash over her reaction when Bakare’s name was mentioned during a recent podcast interview.
Badmus tendered the apology on Tuesday after Bakare criticised her on social media, accusing her of attempting to damage her reputation publicly.
The controversy followed Badmus’ appearance on the Curiosity Made Me Asked podcast, where her facial expressions and reaction to the mention of Bakare’s name reportedly sparked criticism.
Reacting to the incident, Bakare described Badmus as a nuisance and accused her of repeatedly trying to undermine her character despite previous warnings.
In a strongly worded social media post, Bakare questioned Badmus’ conduct during the interview and accused her of ingratitude.

She also alleged that she had played a significant role in Badmus’ personal and professional growth.
“Must you always damage my character publicly? Several times I have warned you to stop,” Bakare wrote.
She further expressed displeasure over what she perceived as Badmus’ reaction to the mention of her name during the podcast, warning that she would not allow the matter to go unaddressed.
“I will never allow someone else’s insecurity to become my distraction. I know my journey, I know my worth, and I know how much it has taken me to get here,” Bakare added.
Following the public criticism, Badmus acknowledged that her reaction during the interview might have appeared dismissive and issued an apology to her colleague.
In her response, the actress said she regretted how her conduct could have been interpreted and expressed a desire to put their differences aside.
“On reflection, I realise my reaction when Laide Bakare’s name was mentioned during my recent interview could have come across as dismissive, and for that, I sincerely apologise,” Badmus wrote.
Addressing Bakare directly, she added: “Laide, whatever our differences, I choose peace and I genuinely wish you well.”
The actress concluded her message with an appeal for reconciliation, writing, “Joo maa binu (please don’t be offended), no negativity. No grudges. Let love lead and peace reigns.”
The apology appears to signal Badmus’ willingness to de-escalate the dispute, which has drawn attention on social media and renewed public interest in the relationship between the two actresses.
Neither actress has provided further details in the statements cited about the underlying differences between them.
