FCT residents commend Sen Ireti Kingibe for speaking up against police attack on protesters

Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja,  in consensus,  commend Senator Ireti Kingibe, representing the FCT in the National Assembly, for standing in defence of protesters attacked by the police in the FCT.

Senator Ireti Kingibe had asserted that the protest in Federal Capital Territory remained peaceful until the police launched an attack, firing teargas and shots at the protesters.

According to the Senator, “to the best of my knowledge, there were no reports of any shops being looted or vandalized in Abuja.”

Ireti Kingibe, overtly declared: @IretiKingibe “I have read most of the comments to my earlier tweet today and for the record let me categorically state that the protest in Federal Capital Territory remained peaceful until the police launched an attack, firing teargas and shots at the protesters. To the best of my knowledge, there were no reports of any shops being looted or vandalized in Abuja.

“So, I ask you my people, what options do we have going forward as a people? How can we peacefully demand justice and reform? -Iretikingibe”.

A resident of the FCT, declaring support for the Senator, stated: @DOgbijo “your first job is to make Wike not to have a job again.

“He is murdering the citizens who voted for you.”

Kingibe, however, responded @IretiKingibe “No,that is not my job. It is your job!!”

Another FCT resident also commended the Senator, saying @MrDabzzzz “Thank you for speaking up. I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision. Please remain steadfast.”

Against Sen. Ireti Kingibe, accepting responsibility, responded @IretiKingibe “It was an easy decision. I was elected by the people and work for the people.”

Expressing dissatisfaction with the President’s broadcast, an FCT resident declared @OgaMayorr “Until both the president and the national assembly speak the language the people will understand,the protest continues…

“Tinubu just appeared on TV and blabbed about himself,he is yet to address the demands of the people…”

And a resident stated @Balatic “Madam, you’re correct. You’re doing your job well.

“Leave the citizens to run this protest the way they deem fit. The protesters will remain peaceful and resolute.

“If you want to wade in, please use your office to ask the FG to start attending to the demands starting with fuel at NN200.”

Also, a resident asserted @BrightIykeIMO “APC and Tinubu are the ones hiring and sponsoring thugs to distract the peaceful protest by peace-loving Nigerians. They are still the ones peddling the rumour of looting.”

An enthusiastic resident of the FCT also declared @EAgholor71562 “Thanks for responding to your followers and correcting your earlier tweet with this more precise post. This shows you’re someone that listens and feels the pulse of the people.

“We implore you to be more vibrant in pushing for the needs of the masses in the senate.

“We understand that you can’t do it alone but it pays to stand with the people always.”

And a resident in a seeming solidarity with Senator Ireti stated @djpherrow “now I understand why Wike want you out of office.. you’re smart.”

A resident, in excitement, declared @OnyiNdubuisi “Now, that’s how you serve the people who put you there. They call, you answer.

“Unfortunately, this can potentially escalate beyond expectations and could have been managed.

“Thank you, Madam Senator. Stay on the good side of history.

“Thank you, Serah, and all those who asked.”

Another resident, appreciating Sen Ireti, stated @ChristogonusEh1

“Madam Senator!

“Thank you so much for the good work you are doing.

“I will appreciate it, if you can go a little further.

“Abuja is your constituency, it will shock you about what will unfold there in a couple days to come so be prepared.

“Please create a situation room to monitor and record all the misdeeds of the police and eventually the Army.

“Go out with adequate security and talk to people as a sign of support and solidarity.

“Thank you for listening to me”

And this stakeholder, @Yorubaa_Ronu simply said “Thank you for standing with People…. God bless you.”
