Hilda Baci threatens legal action against Seyi Vibez over defamatory post
By Ihuoma Inyama
Celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci has threatened legal action against Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez following comments he made about her in a now-deleted social media post.
The dispute began after Seyi Vibez took aim at music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, amid an ongoing disagreement involving the singer and the executive.
In the middle of the online exchange, Seyi Vibez made references to Hilda Baci, claiming that he had once eaten food prepared by the chef and that it had nearly killed him.
The post was subsequently deleted, but not before it gained significant attention online. According to Hilda Baci’s lawyers, the publication was viewed approximately 4.3 million times, received thousands of comments and was widely circulated across social media.
Through her lawyers, Olaniwon Ajayi LLC, Hilda has demanded that Seyi Vibez permanently remove the statements, issue a public apology and retract the allegations.
Her legal team also said the posts resulted in increased harassment directed at the chef across social media, including abusive messages and comments from members of the public.

Hilda’s lawyers have given the singer three days to comply with the demands, warning that legal proceedings could follow if he fails to do so.
Rather than immediately issuing an apology, Seyi Vibez appeared to dismiss the legal threat.
In a reaction shared on X, the singer indicated that he found the letter amusing, suggesting that the dispute may not be heading toward an immediate resolution.
The development has now turned what began as a dispute between Seyi Vibez and Dapper into a separate legal confrontation involving one of Nigeria’s most prominent celebrity chefs.
For Hilda Baci, the issue is no longer simply about an online comment. Her lawyers argue that the statements have affected her reputation and exposed her to harassment.
With the three-day deadline now in place, attention will turn to whether Seyi Vibez retracts the statements and apologises or whether the social-media clash eventually finds its way into court.
