How hired anti-protest thugs repented, joined hardship protest in FCT

Revelations have been made on how individuals hired to disrupt peaceful protests in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, arrived the protest scene, repented and joined the hardship protest in Abuja, after being paid for their disruptive activities.

Convener of Lawyers in Defence of Democracy, Kingdom Okere, in a media interaction narrated: “While Nigerians were protesting peacefully at the MKO Abiola Stadium, over 10 buses filled with sponsored thugs arrived the stadium with the intention of attacking the peaceful protesters.

“Unfortunately, for the administration, some of the hired thugs upon receiving payment, joined the protest against bad governance because they are equally hungry.

“What we witnessed yesterday was a demonstration of lawlessness by this administration.”

There have been several reports of individuals lured with monetary incentives of between N5,000 and N1,000, to mobilise and stage pro-Tinubu protest, to counter the hardship protest of Nigerians across the country.

Meanwhile, an 8-year-old girl, Emmanuela, joined protesters at Ojota, Lagos, lamenting that her father cannot afford her school fees.

According to the girl, “ I want the President to reduce the price of things, Nigeria is hard .
“ My Dad can’t afford my school fees again.”

At the Government House, Bauchi, the police were sighted manhandling a physically disabled person in front of the gate.
