Abuja youths overwhelm Wike, as Minister accuses Senator of sponsoring protest in FCT
There are indications that Nigerian youths resident in the FCT, Abuja, may have overwhelmed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, defying his order on no protest in the FCT, and embarking on the nationwide protest which commenced on August 1.
The protest held successfully in the FCT on Thursday despite threats and orders by the FCT minister that there would be no protest in the territory.
Many youths were monitored during the protest calling out the FCT minister that they were ready for him.
A seemingly overrun minister by the youths, however, alleged that a Senator was sponsoring the protest in the FCT, Abuja, accusing the senator of providing food for protesters in the territory.
According to Wike, “That is sponsorship. A senator providing food for protesters.
“At the appropriate time, security agencies will invite the senator and find out how you will be sponsoring this kind of thing against the government of the day.”
