The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has refuted allegations that it plays a role in the admissions process for Higher National Diploma (HND) students.
In a statement released by JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, the board clarified that its responsibilities are limited to regular admissions into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
JAMB has no authority or involvement in the admissions process for HND candidates.
The statement also addressed concerns raised by some HND students who claimed they were not mobilized for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) due to having completed part-time programs during their National Diploma (ND).

JAMB emphasized that these issues are outside its mandate and irrelevant to its operations.
JAMB urged students and the public to be informed about the board’s functions and to avoid spreading misinformation regarding its responsibilities.
