Gombe State Government extends food items to security agencies
The Gombe State Government has extended its food distribution program to include security agencies in the state. The government aims to provide relief to law enforcement personnel and their families during this challenging period.
The Gombe State Government on Monday presented 380 bags of 25kg rice, 380 bags of 50kg sorghum, and 240 cartons of spaghetti to security agencies in the state, National Daily Newspaper gathered.
Confirming this on Tuesday, the Information Officer from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the State, Joshua Danmalam, said that Governor Muhammadu Yahaya was represented at the symbolic presentation of items by the Executive Secretary, Haruna Abdullahi.
He stated that the governor had approved the extension of the food item distribution to security agencies in the state to bring relief to the officers and their families, adding that it would provide support to the security personnel during these difficult times.
Danmalam noted that the distribution is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to provide food items to citizens to alleviate the hardships currently being experienced in the country.

He said, “The state government had previously distributed assorted food items across the 11 Local Government Areas through their respective chairmen.
These items were supplied by the Federal Government to the states, as well as consignments from the North-East Development Commission to the North-East states, all to mitigate the devastating effects of food shortages in the country.”
