Jetour T2 earns prestigious 5-star NCAP safety rating, intensifies SUV competition in Nigeria

Chinese automobile brand Jetour has strengthened its push into Nigeria’s fast-growing sports utility vehicle market after its rugged T2 model secured the highly coveted NCAP 5-Star safety rating, one of the highest global recognitions for vehicle crash protection and advanced safety technology.

The achievement is expected to boost the appeal of the Jetour T2 among Nigerian motorists increasingly seeking SUVs that combine durability, luxury, advanced safety systems and off-road capability in a market witnessing rising demand for versatile family and adventure vehicles.

The T2 is distributed in Nigeria through accredited dealers including Elizade Nigeria Limited, New Era AutoVehicle Services Limited, Kojo Motors, Germaine Auto Centre, Tab Autos Limited, R. T. Briscoe Motors and Mandilas Autos.

Positioned by the automaker as a “super SUV,” the Jetour T2 was designed with challenging road environments such as those commonly experienced in Nigeria in mind. From heavily congested city roads to rough rural terrain and long-distance highway travel, the vehicle is engineered to adapt to multiple driving conditions.

One of the T2’s biggest selling points is its extensive safety package. The SUV comes equipped with multiple airbags, SRS airbag systems, parking sensors, a rear-view camera and a surround-view monitoring system designed to improve visibility and driver awareness.

The vehicle also incorporates advanced driver-assistance systems including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Emergency Braking Assist and Auto-Brake Assist technology capable of detecting potential collisions and automatically applying braking when necessary.

Jetour says the T2 was built to deliver a balance between rugged off-road performance and premium urban comfort, offering drivers confidence during daily commuting while remaining capable enough for outdoor adventures and difficult terrain.

Inside the cabin, the SUV features a spacious and premium interior designed for comfort during long journeys and family travel. Measuring 4,785mm in length, 2,006mm in width and 1,880mm in height, the T2 offers generous passenger room and cargo capacity.

Powering the vehicle is a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 187kW (254 horsepower) and 390Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission aimed at delivering smooth acceleration, strong overtaking capability and reliable performance across demanding road conditions.

The SUV’s off-road capability is further enhanced by a BorgWarner sixth-generation four-wheel-drive system and XWD intelligent drivetrain technology.

Multiple terrain modes — including Sport, Eco, Normal, Mud, Rock and X Smart — allow the vehicle to automatically adapt to different surfaces ranging from muddy roads to rocky and sandy terrain.

Technology and convenience features also play a central role in the T2 package. A large 15.6-inch LCD touchscreen serves as the vehicle’s infotainment and control hub, providing access to navigation, entertainment, vehicle diagnostics and off-road information.

The SUV also supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, intelligent voice commands, cruise control and crawl control systems designed to improve both comfort and driving precision.

Additional safety and convenience technologies include remote engine start, push-button ignition, lane departure warning and blind-spot detection systems.

Jetour Nigeria said it is supporting the T2 with an expanding nationwide after-sales and dealership network, including trained technicians, structured maintenance plans, warranty coverage and genuine spare parts availability aimed at improving customer confidence and long-term ownership experience.
