KAB Foundation facilitates medical care for 500 Lagos Assembly staffers

The Kassim Alli-Balogun (KAB) Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the health and wellbeing of workers and communities through a comprehensive medical outreach for staff and legislative aides of the Lagos State House of Assembly and the Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission.

The outreach, organised in partnership with the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Lagos State Branch, as part of activities marking PASAN Week, was held at the Lateef Jakande Auditorium of the Lagos State House of Assembly and attracted over 500 beneficiaries.

The initiative provided beneficiaries with access to a wide range of free medical services, including screening for Hepatitis B, blood sugar and blood pressure checks, eye examinations, cervical, kidney and prostate-related screenings, general medical consultations, vital signs assessment, physiotherapy and dental care.

Beneficiaries also received malaria treatment, professional teeth scaling and other medical interventions, while 100 pairs of prescription glasses were distributed free of charge to staff who required them.

The outreach was delivered by a team of 30 doctors and other healthcare professionals led by the Executive Director and Founder of Atti Theresa Foundation, Dr. Eniye Aprezi.

Dr. Aprezi described the initiative as a remarkable partnership involving the KAB Foundation and PASAN, Lagos State Branch, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of parliamentary workers.

In her remarks at the commencement of the programme, the Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mrs. Adenike Oshinowo, applauded the KAB Foundation and PASAN for prioritising the health and welfare of Assembly workers.

The Clerk, who was represented by the Deputy Clerk, Mr. Ebenezer Olaosebikan, conveyed the goodwill of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, the Principal Officers, Honourable Members and Management of the Assembly to the KAB Foundation, PASAN and its members.

She encouraged staff to sustain the spirit of collaboration, mutual respect and commitment to excellence in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Also speaking, the Chairman of PASAN, Lagos State Branch, Mr. Babatunde Ogunlana, expressed appreciation to the KAB Foundation for sponsoring the medical outreach and supporting the welfare of parliamentary workers.

He congratulated members of staff on the successful conclusion of PASAN Week and assured them that PASAN would continue to pursue programmes aimed at improving the welfare and professional wellbeing of workers of the Lagos State House of Assembly and the Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission.

The medical outreach further underscores the KAB Foundation’s philosophy of selfless service to humanity, with the Foundation continuing to identify practical ways of supporting people and communities through interventions in healthcare, education, youth development, women empowerment and other areas of human development.
