Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing security and promoting sustainable agricultural transformation in the state.

During a visit from the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, Radda underscored the importance of collaboration between the government and the armed forces.

Radda highlighted the state’s progress in identifying and apprehending informants working with bandits. He praised the Katsina State Security Watch Corps for their role in arresting over 1,000 informants.

The governor also emphasized the importance of community engagement in addressing security challenges.

Radda acknowledged that unemployment, illiteracy, and lack of livelihood opportunities contribute to banditry in the region.

He highlighted the state’s focus on agriculture, which employs approximately 90% of the population.

The governor outlined initiatives to invest in agriculture, including the procurement of mechanized farming equipment, subsidized fertilizer distribution, and the distribution of water pumps for irrigation.

Air Marshal Abubakar commended the Katsina government’s efforts in intelligence gathering and security.

He announced the deployment of additional special forces to NAF Quick Reaction Wings in the state to support ground troops and other security agencies in combating banditry and kidnappings.

The air chief also expressed condolences to the government and people of Katsina over the passing of Hajiya Dada Yar’adua, the mother of former President Umaru Musa-Yar’adua.
