Nigeria international Ademola Lookman will be aiming to lift his first trophy with Atlético Madrid when the Red and Whites clash with Real Sociedad in the final of the Copa del Rey on Saturday.
The highly anticipated encounter is scheduled to take place at the Estadio de la Cartuja, where both sides will battle for domestic silverware.
Lookman, who joined Atlético from Italian Serie A outfit Atalanta in January, has quickly become an integral part of Diego Simeone’s squad. Since his arrival, the winger has impressed with consistent performances, contributing six goals and four assists in 17 appearances across all competitions.

The 27-year-old has also been instrumental in Atlético’s journey to the final. He scored crucial goals in knockout victories over Real Betis and FC Barcelona, helping Simeone’s men secure their place in the showpiece match.
In the Copa del Rey alone, Lookman has recorded two goals and two assists in three appearances.
Despite his growing influence in Madrid, Lookman has won only one major club title in his career so far — the UEFA Europa League with Atalanta during the 2023/24 season. Saturday’s final therefore presents an opportunity to add a second trophy to his honours list and his first in Spanish football.
Atlético Madrid will be chasing their 11th Copa del Rey crown, while Real Sociedad are targeting their fifth title in the competition’s history, setting the stage for an intense and closely contested final.
