Meet the lost Kenyan tribe of Sengwer that the government is yet to recognize
A community in west pokot county has been crying for recognition from the government over the years without success.
Every time the government carries out census, the Sengwer people are either Counted together with the Pokots or Marakwets.
Speaking to citizen TV on Sunday, community Leadership and rights activists decried the challenges the community goes through following refusal by the government to recognize them.
According to the community, at some point the Government gave an identity code which later turned out to be a hoax.
To preserve their culture for posterity, the community has decided to to pass it over to the next generation through songs.
The community is found in West pokot county, Trans-nzoia and Elgeyo Marakwet Counties of rift Valley.
