The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has recognised and celebrated its outstanding employees in a formal award ceremony held in Abuja, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional performance and accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.

The event brought together key stakeholders in the telecommunications sector and highlighted the Commission’s ongoing commitment to building “a more connected and prosperous Nigeria” through improved regulatory efficiency and innovation in the communications space.

According to the NCC, the recognition programme is designed to reward excellence, encourage productivity, and reinforce a performance-driven culture within the organisation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the NCC Governing Board, Idris Olorunnimbe, described the occasion as a milestone in the Commission’s institutional development, stressing that its achievements are largely driven by the quality and dedication of its workforce.

“This is a proud moment for us to celebrate the true heartbeat of our organisation—our exceptional staff,” Olorunnimbe said.

He noted that the Commission’s progress in regulating and expanding Nigeria’s telecommunications ecosystem is anchored on the innovation, resilience, and professionalism of its employees.

Olorunnimbe further emphasised that organisations that prioritise human capital development are better positioned for long-term success, adding that NCC staff continue to demonstrate high standards of public service and technical competence.

He stated that the recognition of top-performing staff was not only a morale booster but also a reaffirmation of the Commission’s commitment to excellence in service delivery and regulatory oversight.

The NCC reiterated that its broader mandate remains focused on deepening digital inclusion, improving connectivity, and ensuring a competitive telecommunications environment that supports economic growth.

Officials at the event noted that recognising staff contributions is central to sustaining momentum in ongoing reforms within the sector, particularly as Nigeria continues to expand broadband access and digital infrastructure nationwide.

The ceremony concluded with awards presented to distinguished staff members whose performance was said to have significantly contributed to the Commission’s operational and regulatory achievements over the past year.
