Senator Shehu Sani has raised alarm that northern traditional rulers, in the eight years of the administration former President Muhammadu Buhari, lost their voice over the critical situation in the country, but have now found their voice in the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
According to Shehu Sani,
@ShehuSani
“For eight years, Northern Traditional Rulers lost their voice under Buhari; they have found it now.”
Northern Traditional Council, led by the Sultan of Sokoto, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, at a meeting in Kaduna, was said to have asserted that the increasing poverty, hunger and insecurity in the country are getting to level that traditional rulers could no longer pacify people from revolting against the government and political leaders.
The Sultan was cited to have said: “it is getting to a level that traditional leaders could no longer pacify the people from revolting against government and political leaders that are supposed to find solutions to their lingering socio-economic plight.
“We have reached that level, people are very agitated, people are hungry, they are angry, but they still believe there are people who can talk to them, they believe in some of their Governors, some other traditional rulers and some of their religious leaders, fortunately some of us double as traditional and religious leaders.”
