ROTARY Club of Lagos Palmgrove Estate has commenced its free eye screening for the 10th camp eye surgery with over 1000 cases of cataracts and pterygium discovered during the exercise.
Speaking at the 10th camp eye screening, Chairman Services Project Maya Shankar Nalode said that the club in the last 10 years has been carrying out eye screening exercise free of charge.
“Palm Groove Rotary Club in conjunction with Indo Eye Foundation knows the importance of sight and a lot of people have been infected with eye problem. Therefore, this programme is carried out annually while ensuring that no fewer than 1000 Nigerians would benefit from the eye surgery,” he said.
Shankar said that 14 other Rotary club districts are fully involved to collaborate in the exercise.
