The declaration of Tinubu by the Independent national Electoral Commission (INEC) as winner of the February 25 presidential poll is being challenged at the Tribunal by Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, who alleged that the election was flawed by irregularities, manipulations, arguing further that Tinubu was not qualified to contest the election.

There were speculations that the much anticipated judgement of the tribunal may result in re-run presidential election. Thus, Labour Party (LP) leaders had been urging party supp0rters to begin preparations for re-run presidential poll.

All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, had however, argued that if there would be any rerun presidential election, it would be between Tinubu and Atiku, not Obi of the Labour Party.

The argue was predicated on the result of the February presidential election in which Tinubu was declared winner by the INEC and Atiku was second, while Obi was third.

Meanwhile, tension tends to be rising as the tribunal gets set to deliver judgement on the pending petitions.

Some stakeholders had insinuated that President Tinubu used the ministerial appointment to recruit party leaders for support mobilization in the case of a rerun presidential election.

Expectations are high towards the judgement day.
