The protester, who wanted his whereabouts to remain anonymous for safety reasons, reported receiving multiple threats, which he believes are meant to intimidate him into silence.

The activist, speaking in an emotional video,  alleged that law enforcement officers have been trailing him for days. “I am being followed, his residence was bursted by the secret police but fortunately he was not at home. My life is in danger,” he said. “All I want is a better Nigeria, but now I fear for my safety every day.”

According to him, a lot of his colleagues have been arrested and detained in unknown locations with no formal charges brought against them.

“Although we have it on good authority that they were all arrested discreetly during the protest, and all efforts to ascertain where they were taken have proven abortive,” he lamented.

“I was also targeted for elimination because of my political activism, but I escaped. My family has come under serious harassment all in the effort to make them disclose my whereabouts.

The Endbadgovernment movement has been vocal about issues like police brutality, corruption, and governance failures in Nigeria.

It began as a grassroots effort to demand accountability and transparency but has faced pushback from authorities. Despite assurances from the government that citizens have the right to protest, reports of harassment and intimidation against activists have persisted.

The protester’s allegations have sparked outrage online, with many supporters calling for an immediate investigation into his claims. Civil society organizations have also demanded that the government uphold its commitment to protect citizens’ rights to free speech and peaceful assembly.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian secret police have not officially responded to the allegations. The protester has appealed for international support and protection, emphasizing that his fight is for a more just and accountable Nigeria.

As the story gains traction, it raises critical questions about the right to dissent and the challenges faced by those who dare to speak out against government actions. The protester’s plea is a stark reminder of the ongoing struggle for civil liberties in the country.
