Federal High Court dismisses lawsuit against #EndBadGovernance protesters
A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a lawsuit against the #EndBadGovernance protesters, as well as the Attorney General of the Federation, the Inspector General of Police, and top military officials. The case was struck out due to the absence of all parties involved.
In a recent development, National Daily Newspaper gathered that the Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a lawsuit filed against the #EndBadGovernance protesters, alongside key officials including the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Chiefs of Army and Defence Staff
The court, under Justice Peter Lifu, struck out the case on Thursday due to a lack of diligent prosecution.
Justice Lifu of the Federal High Court terminated the proceedings after observing the absence of the 17 plaintiffs, 26 defendants, and their legal representatives.
“It is surprising that none of the plaintiffs or their lawyers appeared in court, despite the case being scheduled for hearing,” remarked Justice Lifu.

The lawsuit, initially filed by 17 Nigerians from various geopolitical zones, sought a court order to halt the nationwide protests, arguing that the demonstrations infringed upon their fundamental rights, including freedom of movement, human dignity, property ownership, and national security.
The plaintiffs had sought a Federal High Court mandate to compel the DSS Director-General, the IGP, and military chiefs to end the protests. However, with all parties failing to appear, the case was dismissed, effectively closing the matter.
