Vice-President Kashim Shettima departed Abuja on Wednesday for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to attend the opening of the International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources (SIREXE) 2024 conference.
The event, scheduled to run from November 27 to December 2, is taking place at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Media & Communications, confirmed that Shettima is attending the conference at the invitation of Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice President, Tiémoko Koné.
Nkwocha highlighted that the Vice-President would use the platform to share Nigeria’s experience in hydrocarbon exploration and production, contributing to discussions on the sustainable development of the extractive and energy sectors.

The SIREXE conference, organized by the government of Côte d’Ivoire, is a key international event focusing on policies and strategies for the growth of the extractive and energy industries.
Shettima is expected to return to Abuja later today.
