The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, had dislodged the Scavengers’ Colony in Mabushi District of the FCT, Abuja.

The minister ordered the clearance of the area used by scavengers in the outskirt towns of the FCT, explaining it does not only constitute sanitation hazard but also threatens the collective security in the FCT.

“I have directed the immediate removal of the Scavengers’ Colony along the road corridor across Mabushi, Jahi and Kado Districts, in Mabushi District.
“It is not only a sanitation hazard but also a threat to our collective security in the FCT.”
