Civil servants in Yobe State have cried out over the compulsory 10% deduction of their monthly salaries by the state government. The workers grumble that 10% of their salary was deducted by the government in the month of November.
The state government had implemented the salary deduction policy to revamp the education sector, under the “Yobe Education Recovery Appeal Fund”.
The workers protested that the government enforced the salary deduction on them without their consent. Apparently, none of the workers was aware of the government decision before the commencement of the salary deduction. The workers feel being denied a proportion of their salary by the Yobe State government.
