Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, former Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, and former Ogun State Governor, Senator Gbenga Daniel, are among prominent Nigerians expected at the 7th annual lecture of Freedom Online newspaper scheduled for Thursday in Ikeja, Lagos.

The lecture, themed “2027 Elections, Economy, Security and Nigeria’s Future,” is expected to bring together political leaders, policymakers, media executives, professionals and other stakeholders for discussions on issues shaping Nigeria’s political and socio-economic future.

Governor Sanwo-Olu will deliver the keynote lecture at the event.

Lai Mohammed, a former Minister of Information and Culture, will serve as Chairman of the occasion, while Senator Gbenga Daniel, who currently represents Ogun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, is the Special Guest of Honour.

The organisers said the choice of theme was informed by the growing national debate around the 2027 general elections and their potential implications for Nigeria’s economy, security and democratic development.

In a statement, Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of Freedom Online, Gabriel Akinadewo, said the event would attract several eminent Nigerians from different sectors.

He described the annual lecture as an important platform for examining critical national issues and providing an opportunity for stakeholders to exchange ideas on the country’s future.

The President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and Editor of Vanguard, Eze Anaba, will serve as Chief Host of the event.

The lecture is expected to feature discussions on the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections, economic challenges and opportunities, national security concerns and the need for sustainable policies capable of shaping a more prosperous Nigeria.

The participation of senior political figures and media leaders is also expected to provide diverse perspectives on the country’s current realities and the choices confronting Nigerians ahead of the next general elections.

The organisers said other notable personalities from the political, business, media and professional communities are expected to attend the 7th edition of the annual lecture.
