Lekki is one of the most popular areas in Lagos state. This is largely because the area is where you are more likely to find many wealthy Nigerians who live in expensive houses and drive around in expensive cars. I believe everyone wants to live in Lekki, but does everyone really want to live in Lekki?
Over some years now, Lekki has always been in the news whenever there is flood in Lagos. Flood is one of the greatest enemies of the Nigeria’s most economically important state. The reason for the recurrent flooding of Lagos state is dependent on several factors, some which are natural and others man-made. 1. Ajah
Ajah is a town in Eti-Osa Local Government Area, Lagos State in Nigeria. It is one of the most popular town in Lagos. It comprises of Addo, Langbasa, Badore, Ajiwe, and many other areas.
2. Chevy view
Chevy view estate is another area of Lekki where flood is a regular visitor. According to reviews, the estate has many shallow, clogged and substandard drainage systems. Also, because the ground of this area is sloppy, it makes it vulnerable to flood.
It is not only Elegushi beach this town is known for, it also experiences issues with flooding. Some areas of Elegushi are always waterlogged even when there is no heavy rainfall. This is largely attributed to the closeness of the area to the sea.
4. Agungi
The main reasons for the flood in Agungi is the poor drainage system. This is an area where developers buy land, build houses for sale but forget to construct good drainage systems to save the area from flood. Sadly, when flood arrives, this area is often affected because of the poor drainage system.
