Tragedy struck in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Wednesday morning as suspected kidnappers abducted the sister of former Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant Bayo Adelabu alongside her twin children in a brazen attack that has heightened security concerns in the state.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, June 3, in the Challenge area of Ibadan, within Ibadan South-West Local Government Area, when the victims were intercepted by armed men while travelling from the Elewura axis.
According to Femi Awogboro, a media aide to Adelabu, the abducted victims include Adelabu’s younger sister and her twin sons identified as Peter and Paul. The attackers were said to have forced them into an unknown direction before fleeing the scene.

Security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the incident, but sources say preliminary investigations have begun to track the assailants and secure the release of the victims.
The abduction comes amid growing anxiety over rising insecurity in Oyo State, following a recent mass kidnapping incident in Ahoro-Esiele, Oriire Local Government Area, where dozens of pupils and teachers were previously abducted.
Residents have expressed renewed fear over the apparent resurgence of kidnapping activities along key routes in Ibadan and surrounding communities, calling for urgent government intervention to restore safety.
