Cedric Masters wins prestigious ‘indigenous auto enterprise’ award at Motoringworld anniversary

Cedric Masters Group, assemblers of the JIM-Isuzu Pickup brand in Nigeria, has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Indigenous Auto Enterprise’ Award at the Motoringworld @ 30 Celebration and Awards Ceremony held at the prestigious MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

The award was presented in recognition of the company’s outstanding contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria’s automotive industry, particularly its commitment to vehicle assembly, local content development, job creation, and investment in the sector.

The colourful event brought together key stakeholders in the automotive industry, policymakers, transport operators, manufacturers, dealers, and industry enthusiasts to celebrate three decades of Motoringworld’s contributions to automotive journalism and industry development in Nigeria.

The occasion was chaired by Boboye Oyeyemi, former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who commended industry players for their resilience and contributions toward the advancement of Nigeria’s mobility and transportation ecosystem.

Speaking after receiving the award, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cedric Masters Group, Anselm Ilekuba, described the recognition as a significant milestone for the company and a strong motivation to continue investing in Nigeria’s automotive industry.

“At Cedric Masters we have received awards but for Motoring World to recognize us with THE INDIGENOUS AUTO ENTERPRISE AWARD is an exceptional motivation because as a major stakeholder in this industry, I understand the reputation of Motoring World in the Nigerian automotive industry in the past 30 years,” Ilekuba stated.

He noted that the award would further inspire the company to strengthen its commitment to local vehicle assembly, technology transfer, skills development, and the promotion of indigenous participation in the automotive value chain.

According to him, Cedric Masters Group remains focused on supporting the Federal Government’s industrialization agenda through sustained investments in automotive manufacturing and the development of globally competitive products for the Nigerian market.

Industry observers described the award as a testament to the growing influence of Cedric Masters Group within the Nigerian automotive landscape, especially through its successful assembly and promotion of the JIM-Isuzu Pickup brand.

The recognition also underscores the company’s role in advancing local automotive production and contributing to the realization of a sustainable and self-reliant automotive industry in Nigeria.
