DeeOne wins Lagos Assembly ticket ahead of 2027
Popular comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate DeeOne has emerged as the candidate of the BOOT Party for the Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I seat in the 2027 general election.
The entertainer, whose real name is Aderombi Adedayo Martins, secured the party’s ticket after winning its primary election.

Announcing the development on Instagram, DeeOne expressed appreciation to party members for their support and confidence in his candidacy.
“I want to thank my party, BOOT Party, for the confidence in voting for me to emerge winner of the primary election for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I,” he wrote.
Addressing residents of the constituency, the comedian pledged to adopt a people-centred approach to leadership if elected.
“To Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I, come 2027, by the grace of God, I will be your worker and not your boss,” he said.
His emergence adds to the growing list of Nigerian entertainers venturing into active politics as preparations for the 2027 elections begin to gather momentum.
The race for seats in the Lagos State House of Assembly is expected to attract significant attention as political parties continue to position their candidates ahead of the next electoral cycle.
