Fans celebrate Nollywood legend RMD at 65
Fans, colleagues and admirers have showered tributes on veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, as he celebrates his 65th birthday.
The celebrated actor marked the milestone with a heartfelt message on his verified Instagram page, reflecting on his life, faith and journey.
“65 years of Purpose. Presence. Grace,” he wrote, expressing gratitude for the opportunities, challenges and people who have shaped his life, adding: “The journey continues.”

The post attracted an outpouring of goodwill from fans and industry colleagues, who praised RMD for his enduring impact on Nollywood and wished him many more years of good health and success.
Among those who celebrated him were content creator Enioluwa Adeoluwa, actress Iyabo Ojo, broadcaster Eugenia Abu and several other entertainers, who described him as a legend, mentor and inspiration.
Born on July 6, 1961, in Aladja, Delta State, RMD began his career as a journalist before rising to fame through the television soap opera Ripples in the late 1980s.
Over the years, he has featured in numerous Nollywood productions, earning several awards and recognition for his outstanding performances. Beyond acting, he served as Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism from 2009 to 2015, contributing to the promotion of the state’s cultural and tourism sectors.
Widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s most influential figures, RMD continues to shape the industry through his acting career, mentorship and advocacy for the growth of Nigeria’s creative sector.
