Gunfire erupts as suspected hoodlums attack Adeleke’s convoy in Osogbo

Tension reportedly gripped Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Wednesday after suspected hoodlums opened fire on the convoy of Governor Ademola Adeleke shortly after he visited the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo.

The incident occurred as the governor’s convoy was leaving the palace, with the attackers reportedly targeting vehicles in the entourage.

Sources said security operatives attached to the governor immediately responded to the attack, engaging the assailants and forcing them to retreat from the area.

The swift intervention of the security personnel reportedly prevented the situation from escalating, while Adeleke and other members of his convoy were safely moved away from the scene.

The incident comes amid heightened political activities in Osun State, where tensions have continued to rise over political developments and competing interests.
